A searchable, multi-select role filter for a pipeline funnel spanning thousands of open requisitions.
The Short Version
I designed the role-filtering layer for an enterprise pipeline funnel spanning thousands of open requisitions, so a recruiting leader could search, multi-select specific roles or REQs, and see the funnel update without losing track of what they'd already chosen.
The Mess
With thousands of overlapping requisitions and repeated job titles, a conventional dropdown couldn't hold the list, let alone make a multi-selection legible. Search needed to work by role name or REQ number, selections needed to stay visible while browsing continued, and none of it could touch the funnel until the recruiter said so.
My Part in This
- Built a searchable, multi-select role filter that scales to thousands of REQs without collapsing into an unusable dropdown.
- Separated Selected from All roles inside the same panel, so an in-progress multi-select stayed legible against a list of thousands.
- Kept Update Funnel as a deliberate, separate action from selection, so checking a box never silently changed the results.
What Got Better
- Turned an unusable dropdown into a searchable, multi-select filter that holds thousands of REQs without collapsing.
- Separated browsing from committing, so a multi-select in progress never silently changed the funnel underneath it.
